Have you ever slept under an old patchwork quilt, one so well-used and many-times washed that parts are threadbare? I slept under many of those as a kid on vacations in the New Hampshire woods. The reason I love geometric art and the reason I chose to live in New Hampshire are all tied up in those old quilts. I think this painting does my memory of falling asleep under them justice.
