CALM DOWN

A good day in either studio is when a friend stops by and wants to paint. That's how this painting was made. I pulled out my last big blank canvas, Gary picked three colors, I picked three, and we busied ourselves making little marks. It was fun and relaxing -- just the experience I want friends to have when they visit. Gary and I used to garden together back in the day, so I shouldn't have been surprised at how easily we progressed. Afterward, I decided to add squares in a very regular pattern to make it calming for the viewer while still allowing the colors to pop.
