Coverup
painting of colorful lines

One of life's natural antidepressants is color. It certainly is something I depend on. This is my first striped painting and I made it to cover up a painting I started by letting painting drip down the canvas. The effect made me feel very sad. I couldn't stand to look at it! So I covered it up. But you can still see those drips when you get close. It's a lesson for life: if you get too close to sadness, take time to stand back and take a broader view. Also remember, a little color might cheer you up.
