Recently I've become obsessed with painting fast and loose on top of my sub-par older works. Whenever I pause too long, I ask myself, what was the first thing that came into your head? Black stars. Do it! And I obey. As of this moment, I've made five paintings by painting a design on top of an old one and then balancing that with what's still showing of the background.   It's a new way of working, and I'm enjoying the results

 

This painting and four others will be shown in an exhibition in Morelia at NIDO in February.
