Uvalde

I was on Matinicus Island in Maine the day of the Uvalde shooting. And what had started as a painting echoing the colors of the landscape, became a painting about the shooting and particularly about the little girl who kept bravely using her cell phone to call the police and beg them to come. All the while the police were there and cowering outside the door. Another shameful day in Texas history.

     How is it about Uvalde?

I channeled my own childhood by using my nondominant hand to write the alphabet and other things like STOP and AR15. There's the dictionary page for Profit. And you can almost make a game for all the other words on that page that relate to that day or to guns. (A sad game.)
